The history of the Quinta Vale do Olmo is split into two parts - before Golpe and after Golpe.

 

"Golpe" literally translates to "coup" and the wines created under this banner symbolise the break away by brothers Vasco and Rui from the past practice of bulk selling grapes to vinifying their own wines.

 

The brothers built a brand new winery, took control of the entire winemaking process and today produce wines of a superb mineral freshness that are, simply put, distinctly their own.

The legacy of a winemaking tradition, beginning with the brothers' great-grandfather who first planted vines here at the turn of the 20th century, was renewed with the establishment of "Pacto", a range of wines representing the unbroken connection between past generations, the vines and the region.
