About

Dating back to 1802, the Gonet family have been producing wine in Avize, in the heart of the Côte des Blancs, for over two centuries. Sophie Gonet and her brother Charles-Henri are seventh generation winegrowers who, with the expert hand of a young and talented winemaker, Antoine Gomérieux, have an adventurous flair for producing wines that express in perfect balance the typicality of their special terroir and the unique characteristics of each vintage. These are wines that, in our humble opinion, often outperform many (much more expensive) Grand Marques.

The vines span 40 hectares and contain some of the most coveted parcels in the entire region. The Grand Crus derive from the village of Mesnil-sur-Oger, a terroir famous for bringing tension, minerality and incomparable length to the Chardonnay. Here, Gonet shares illustrious company, with the likes of Krug and Salon a literal stone's throw away. The family’s blends are bolstered with Chardonnay from Vindey, bringing freshness, and Montgueux, which adds body to the wines. The Pinot Noir making up the réserve wines are nestled on the cool slopes of Fravaux in the Côte des Bar.
